About Me

Hello and welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m a Creative and Collections Strategist based in New York City, working at the intersection of art, archives, and storytelling. My background bridges scholarship and design, with degrees from the Bard Graduate Center (MA in Decorative Arts, Design History & Material Culture), Pratt Institute (MLIS), and Hunter College (BA in Art History).

My path to the arts has never been linear, and I like it that way. I arrived in New York dreaming of the stage, poured champagne at the Shubert theatres, and later managed salons and spas before finding my home in the world of art history and cultural heritage.

I’ve since collaborated with some of New York’s most storied institutions, including The Morgan Library & Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. My work has included developing and directing programs in historical book arts that combine exhibition practice, education, and traditional craftsmanship. I’ve also taught at Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute, and Sotheby’s Institute of Art, designing curricula that connect visual literacy, material culture, and the interpretive possibilities of objects.

Today, through Ann Bell Atelier, I focus on curation, editorial projects, and creative direction, transforming archival research and material culture into experiences that feel timeless, elegant, and human. My work is guided by clarity, craftsmanship, and a love of the stories objects tell.

I also write Woman with a Baguette, a poetic travel journal devoted to French culture, elegance, and everyday artfulness, a space where scholarship meets rèverie and Paris is always a state of mind.

À bientôt,
Ann
